Regional Final:
Finals held at Mackay Show each year with Mackay Sunbeam Dried Fruits. First Prize: $200.00 plus trophy. Second Prize: $100.00. Third Prize: $50.00.
Winner to compete in State Final the following year. However, cake must be made prior to Mackay Show (17-19 June, 2008) to be displayed as this is the cake that will be competing in the State Final for that year.
Mackay Show Society to forward cake to Brisbane by specified date each year.
Set recipe to be used to 1/2lb mixture and cooked in an 8" square tin for the Local and Regional Final. Cut cake is acceptable for the Regional Final.
The smaller cake size is aimed at encouraging more entries at Local Shows.
State Final:
The State Final is sponsored by Sunbeam Dried Fruits. First Prize: $100.00. Second Prize: $60.00. Third Prize: $40.00.
Own recipe can be used but must contain one pound/500g mixture with approximately 2.5kg of fruit, including currants (whole), sultanas and raisins (cut), mixed peel. Cherries and nuts optional.
To be baked in square 27cm (10") tin.
