Opening:
The show will be open to the public on Friday, 16th May 8.00am to 10.00pm
and Saturday 17th May 8.00am to 10.30pm. The Opening Ceremony will take
place at 1.00pm on Friday 16th May.
Admission:
Family Pass $40.00 (admits 1 lady and 1 gent and children under 13 years
and their high school children with I.D. badges to grounds on all days
of the Show). Single Pass $20.00 (admits a single person). Adults $12.00, school children under 13 years $6.00,
high school children with I.D. Badges $8.00. Aged Pensioners (on
production of Pension Card/Seniors Card) $8.00. Ringside car reserve $10.00 a day.
Other parking in designated areas on grounds is free of charge.

The prizes will be awarded subject to appended General Regulations
and Conditions, and notes as set forth in the Prize Schedules, and these
are to be the conditions of competition.
-
The exhibition shall take place on the Societys Ground or where
the committee may appoint. The Committee reserve the right at any time
to postpone the Exhibition, or any event thereof in consequence of the
inclemency of the weather or from any other sufficient cause, to a date
or dates deemed suitable by the Committee, and no entrance fee shall be
returned in the event of such postponement. The reasonableness of the
cause or causes for postponement shall be decided by the Committee and
their judgment shall be conclusive, and not be open to question by any
exhibitor or other person affected by such postponement.

The Committee may abandon the Exhibition or any event thereof through
wet weather, or for any other reason which may make such a course ad-visable
in their opinion. Should the exhibition or any event be abandoned or cancelled,
exhibitors shall be entitled to a return of the entry fee paid in such
event or events as may be cancelled, but no cause or action, liability
or obligation shall be maintainable, or be incurred by the Committee,
or by the Society by reason of such abandonment or cancellation.

All entries must be made on printed forms to be had from the Secretary
on application as it is from these documents the catalogue and Stew-ards
books will be compiled. It is necessary that the whole of the questions
contained in them shall be answered as far as possible, and no entry forms
will be valid unless signed by the exhibitor or his agent. These forms
shall be forwarded to the Secretary by post or otherwise so as to reach
the office of the Society on or before the date when entries close. Entry
fees must in all cases be remitted with the entry forms. Entry fee will
be acknowledged on official receipt form but not returned by post unless
entry is accompanied by stamped self-addressed envelope.

Exhibits entered in the wrong class by the Exhibitor may be transferred
to the proper class by the Stewards.

Exhibitors of stud cattle, horses and goats for competition, must at
the time of entry, state age, breed and breeder (if possible), together
with Herd Book or registered number.
-
An Exhibitor or his agent, who shall make a false report or give misleading
information respecting any exhibit, shall be held to have forfeited any
prize gained by these means. The exhibit and ex-hibitor, together with
the agent (if any) may be disqualified and the matter reported to the
Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies.
-
The grounds will be open for admission of exhibits at the times shown
at the head of each Section in the Schedule. Horses may be removed at
5 pm each day, but must be returned to their respective positions by 7.30
am on the following days of the Show, failing which, all prizes awarded
to them will be forfeited. Any exhibitors failing to comply with this
Regulation may be debarred from entering in the following year.

The Society will not be responsible for any accident caused through
or by any exhibit and will not under any circumstances, hold itself responsible
for any loss or miss delivery of Livestock, or other Exhibits of any kind,
or for any damage done thereto.
-
All exhibits must be delivered to and removed from the grounds at
the cost and risk of the exhibitor.
-
All persons exhibiting must accept the decision of the Judges appointed
by the Committee, and on all protests the decision of the Committee shall
be final, and without appeal. Provided that any Exhibitor shall have the
right of appealing against disqualification imposed, as provided for in
the Constitution of the Chamber of Agricultural Societies. Any person
or persons interfering with a Judge, or who shall be guilty of unseemly
conduct to Judge or Stewards or Officials, of the Society, or any exhibitor
refusing in any way to carry out the instructions of a Steward, shall
be liable at the discretion of the Committee, to a penalty not exceeding
$20 or, together with his or their exhibits, or otherwise may be expelled
from the Ground.

All exhibits to be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor. Nothing
to indicate ownership of any exhibit will be permitted (the usual brand
on livestock excepted). Any person objecting to any award, or to an exhibit,
must enter a protest in writing fully setting out the grounds of such
objection, and lodge it with the Secretary, up to noon on the day following
the award, and no protest shall be subsequently received unless the Committee
be satisfied with the reason assigned for the delay. Protests must be
accompanied by a deposit of $40, which will be forfeited if the Committee
finds the protest frivolous. Protests will be considered by the committee
within 24 hours of the lodgment. Entries are received for prizes offered
by the Society on the express condition that the decision of the Committee
on all objections, disputes, and protests shall be accepted as final,
and that the Exhibitor agrees to observe and be bound by the Rules and
Regulations of the Society.

Should any exhibit, having obtained a prize, be disqualified, the
next on the list does not necessarily obtain the prize. The Committee,
with or without the advice of the judge, shall decide the question.
-
All prizes awarded at the Show shall be payable within fourteen (14)
days after the Show, except in cases where protests are entered. All prizes
not applied for within three months after the Show will be forfeited to
the Society.
-
The judges will not award prizes in classes in which the exhibits
are not considered to possess sufficient merit.
-
No decorations or award cards, except such as are provided by the
Committee, shall be placed on any exhibit, or affixed thereto at the Exhibition
then being held.
-
The Prize Awards affixed to all exhibits shall be clearly defined
and a different colour for each. Ribbons will only be issued to Livestock
Exhibits, and no duplicate ribbons will be issued.
-
All special prizes presented to the Society must be for open competition
i.e. they must not be given for the progeny of any particular animal etc.,
and shall be governed by the Rules of the Society.
-
Should there be any reason to suspect that any exhibit is either diseased
or dangerous, the Committee reserve the right of refusing admittance to,
or removing same from the Grounds at the expense of the Exhibitor.
-
The Committee may refuse or cancel any entry without giving reason
for doing so.
-
One of the main objects of these exhibitions is to afford an opportunity
to the public to improve their collections at a time when they are best
enabled to form a correct opinion on the merit of the several varieties.
Exhibitors are requested to attach the prices on each exhibit for sale.
(The Secretary must be notified of any exhibit that is for sale and all
enquiries regarding sales must be made through the Secretary or Stewards,
other than livestock auctioned).

Vehicles containing supplies will be admitted on the Ground free up
to 9am on the first day, and up to 8pm on subsequent days of the Show,
but must leave the ground as soon as unloaded, or requested to do so by
any of the Stewards or Officials. No horse shall be ridden or vehicle
driven (except in the vehicle reserve) unless competing in the show. All
decisions to be subject to the discretion of the Committee.
-
No person except those actually in charge of stock (who shall wear
a badge supplied by the Secretary), will be permitted to remain in the
Judging ring during the adjudication, under any pretext whatever, and
they must on no account leave their respective lots, unless authorised
by the Stewards.
-
The attention of the exhibitor is especially drawn to the foregoing
regulations. Any disregard of same will render the exhibitor liable for
disqualification.
-
A Grand Parade shall be held on Saturday approximately 2pm in which
all leadable livestock exhibited at the show are requested to take part.
All prize winners must exhibit in the grand parade or may be required
by the committee to forfeit prize money. A ticket will be given to all
participants in the grand parade on entry into the ring and the winner
of the lucky ticket will receive $75. Second prize of $50 and third &
$25 donated by ACCOUNTING & YOU. Winners must be present in the ring
either lead/riding livestock to collect any grand prizes on announcement.

The Committee shall have the power to retain any exhibit until all
fines are paid.
-
No exhibitor of livestock shall be permitted to use any part of stall
other than those allotted to them by the Stewards.
-
Necessary attendants upon stock will be furnished with special passes
upon applying at the Secretarys office. Not more than one attendants
pass will be issued to any exhibitor except where it is shown that extra
attendants are required.
-
Passes are positively not transferable under any circumstances. Exhibitors
who may desire to change their attendants must have their passes exchanged
at the Secretarys office.
The names of all attendants must be written on all passes, and no pass
will be accepted at the gate until the name of such attendant has been
written thereon in ink.

No side show of any description shall be permitted on the Show grounds
during the exhibition without having first paid the necessary rental and
obtained a permit from the Secretary.
-
No person shall be entitled to a refund for any entry fees paid, unless
a claim is lodged with the Secretary before the time on which the event
is to take place or the Class is judged. However, such refund may be paid
if a special recommendation is received from the steward in charge of
the particular event or class, that the withdrawal of the entry was done
on the advice of the Steward or Judge.

Space Hirers are to ensure that All power leads and electrical appliances
display a current tag indicating that each lead has been tested and approved
by an authorised person in accordance with the requirements of the Workplace,
Health and Safety Act i.e. has been tested after the 1 January 2008.

By entering the Callide Valley Show Grounds, all persons, including contestants, exhibitors, traders and visitors agree to allow the Society
to use photographs and/or video footage taken during the Show for promotional
or other purposes, such as this website.

Exhibitors:
-
Exhibitors, when entering exhibits, must furnish the Secretary with
a description of the exhibit and the number of the class they which to
compete in. Entries must be made on printed forms where possible and entry
fee must accompany entries.
-
Exhibitors must obtain Section cards from the Secretary, affix to exhibits
and deliver to the Stewards of the Section, at or before the hours advertised
for the judging.
-
Exhibits must not be removed without the permission of the Stewards.
-
Exhibits of stock must have an attendant to parade same at hours notified.
Stewards:
-
Stewards names shall appear in the Prize Schedule above their section,
-
Stewards must be in attendance at the Showground at the hour appointed
to receive exhibits.
-
Stewards are responsible for the proper classification of exhibits,
and all exhibits must be ready for judging.
-
Any exhibit suffering from an infectious or contagious disease shall
be reported immediately to the Secretary, who will order its removal.
-
Stewards will obtain the Award Books from the Secretary, and direct
the judges to exhibits they are appointed to judge.
-
Stewards shall attend on the judges to afford any information required
but will not do or say anything to influence their decision.
-
Stewards shall remove Exhibition and other persons from the vicinity
of the judges while judging.
-
Stewards will obtain their prize cards from the Secretary and affix
same to exhibit, after filling in names of successful exhibitors and other
particulars.
-
Stewards will obtain the Award Books from the Judges when filled up
and signed and deliver same to Secretary.
-
A judge shall not be an exhibitor in the Section in which they are
judging.
-
Stewards to see Judges receive any expenses due to them before leaving
show grounds.
Judges:
-
Judges are requested to attend at the Secretarys office on the
Showground before the appointed judging time, introduce themselves to
the Secretary and to the Stewards of the Section.
-
Judges will receive Award Books from the Stewards of the Section
-
Judges, as they arrive at their decision, will write their award, with
any remark they may desire, in the Award Books.
-
Judges shall disqualify any exhibit which, in their opinion, does not
comply with the regulations, and shall enter their reason in their books.
-
Judges may recommend for certificates or commend as they think fit,
any exhibits of special merit not included in the Schedule of prizes,
and will not award prizes in any class in which the exhibits are not considered
in their opinion, to possess sufficient merit.
-
Judges will sign the Award Books and deliver them to the Stewards of
the section.
-
Judges to claim fee, travelling expenses etc, if required before leaving
grounds.
Brucellosis - Entry requirement for Cattle:
No entry from herds classified as non-assessed, Infected,
Suspect, Restricted, or Provisional Free.
Membership of this Society:
Your membership means both moral and financial support of the activities
of this Society in fostering the raising of purebred stock, quality crops,
fine arts, home manufacture, needlework and school work. For more information,

This Show is conducted subject to the rules of the Queensland Chamber
of Agricultural Societies Inc, the constitution and rules of this Society
and any other regulation, which appears within the Schedule for individual
sections of this Show. Should there be any conflict between the rules
of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc, the constitution
and rules of this Society and the regulations appearing in any schedule,
the constitution, rules and regulations appearing in the schedule of this
Society shall prevail.

The President, Steward and/or the Committee person in charge of any
section of this Show shall have the right to refuse any entry by an Exhibitor
without expressing reason at any time up to the commencement of judging
of the section to which that entry applies.
-
The Society reserves the right to refuse entry to any stall holder
if the Society reasonably believes that it is necessary to do so in order
to ensure that the standard, quality and safety of the Show is maintained.
-
The President, Committee person in charge or Steward of any Section
shall have the right to alter or amend the programme or the time of any
event.
-
This Society will not under any circumstances hold itself liable for
any accident, loss, damage or nondelivery of livestock or other exhibits
at the Societys Show, and it shall be a condition of entry that
each exhibitor shall hold this Society blameless and indemnify it against
any legal proceedings arising through any accident, loss, nondelivery
or damage whatsoever.

Exhibitors must obey all lawful orders of the President, Secretary,
the Committee person in charge or the Steward of the Section in which
the
Exhibitor is entered. Failure to abide by any such order may incur a fine
of an amount to be determined by the President of this Society or on the
order of the President, the Exhibitor may be removed from the grounds
together with the exhibit..

Stewards shall have the power to remove exhibitors or other persons
from the vicinity of the Judge while judging.
-
The Judges decision in any section shall be final.
-
Any protest by an Exhibitor must be lodged in writing with the Committee
person or Steward in charge of any section within 30 minutes of the
completion of the event together with a fee as determined by the Committee
of this Society. The fee will be forfeited if the protest is considered
to be frivolous or vexatious. The protest shall be heard according to
the rules of the natural justice by a Dispute Committee of three appointed
by the President of this show and the decision of the Disputes Committee
shall be final.
-
Ribbons will be awarded at the Judges discretion notwithstanding
that there may be provision in the schedule for the awarding of ribbons.
-
Exhibitors shall ensure that they and all animals are entered and
shown in the correct class.
-
All exhibitors must attend for judging at the appointed time and place.
Judging shall not be delayed for an Exhibitor who is not ready and the
Committee person in charge or Steward of a section shall have the right
to exclude and disqualify the exhibitor competing in that section who
does not present on time.
-
If, in the opinion of the Committee person in charge or Steward of
a Section, any animal or exhibit is entered in the wrong class, the Committee
person in charge or Steward of the Section shall have the power to enter
the animal or exhibit in its correct class prior to the commencement of
judging of that class.
-
Where there is an age limit on an Exhibitor, any of the following
shall be accepted as proof of age:- (a) A Birth Certificate (b) A Drivers
Licence (c) Current Passport.
-
Exhibitors shall at all times, behave in a proper and courteous manner
to Judges, Show Officials and other Exhibitors. Should an Exhibitor behave
in an offensive or improper manner, the Committee person in charge or
Steward in the section shall have a right to exclude and disqualify that
Exhibitor from competing in the Section.
-
All Exhibitors and/or grooms entering the showgrounds shall obey the
lawful directions of the President, Committee, Stewards or employees of
the Show Society and failure or refusal to do so, shall entitle the President
of this Society to disqualify the Exhibitor and/or his/her exhibit from
competing at the Show and may order the removal of the Exhibitor and/or
his/her exhibit from the grounds.
-
A Judge shall not adjudicate at more than one show, where practical,
within 60 days unless judging different sections where it can be reasonably
anticipated a number of the same exhibits are to be judged.
-
Judging cards and performance records shall be completed by the Committee
person in charge, Steward and/or the Judge of a Section (if required)
during or immediately after the judging of the Section or at the Judges
convenience.
-
Judges must be suitably attired when judging.
-
Competitors must be suitably attired when exhibiting.
-
If a Judge is unable to fulfil a judging commitment, the Judge shall
notify the Show Society as soon as possible so a replacement can be arranged.
-
A Judge shall not send a substitute Judge. All invitations to judge
shall be sent by this Society.
-
A Society shall report to the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies
Inc any Judge who fails to attend a Show to which he or she has
accepted an invitation to judge or, who has failed to judge at the time
advertised for the commencement of the class provided that the failure
to attend or appear is without reasonable cause.
-
A Judge may not officiate in one Section of a Show and compete or
exhibit in another Section at the same show unless exceptional circumstances
exist such as sickness or unavailability of the appointed Judge.
-
An Exhibitor shall not compete in a Section if the Exhibitor is a
member of the Judges immediate family.
-
An Exhibitor shall not compete nor show any animal in a section if
the animal has been owned or leased by the Judge or a member of the Judges
immediate family or if the Judge is the Exhibitors employer or business
partner.
-
An Exhibitor shall not compete if the Exhibitor or any member of the
Exhibitors immediate family has provided accommodation for the
Judge within three months prior to or during the holding of the Show.
-
An Exhibitor shall not compete if the Exhibitor or any animal being
shown by the Exhibitor has been given tuition by the Judge or the Judges
business partner within three months prior to or during the show.
-
An exhibitor is ineligible to compete if the Exhibitor has employed
or has been employed by or has been a business partner of the Judge of
the
Section within three months prior to or during the holding of the Show.
-
An Exhibitor shall not compete if the Exhibitor has given tuition
to the Judge or has fed or trained an animal owned or leased by the Judge
within three months prior to or during the Show.
-
A Judge shall not visit the livestock-housing complex of the Show
Society, nor the owners, nor inspect or discuss any animal entered in
the Show prior to or during the judging of the relevant section.
-
No Exhibitors shall deface or alter registration papers or performance
cards for any exhibit.
-
A Judge or Steward must not knowingly permit an ineligible Exhibit
or Exhibitor to compete.
-
No Exhibitor nor a member of the Exhibitors immediate family
or anybody employed by the Exhibitor shall approach a Judge with regard
to a
decision made by the Judge unless they first obtain permission from the
Committee person in charge or Steward of the Section.
-
In Breed Classes, all animals must have Current Registration &
Ownership Certificate with the Breed Society.
-
In Breed Classes, registration papers (where applicable) must be available
at the Show as proof of registration.
-
An Exhibitor required by the Show Section Schedule or rules of this
Society to parade an exhibit in the grand parade and who fails to do so,
shall not be entitled to and shall forfeit any prize money or trophy to
that Exhibitor and/or for that Exhibit.
-
The Exhibitor shall ensure that they and their exhibit comply at all
times with all statutes, regulations and by-laws applying to the showground
at the time of the show including but not limited to all animal health
requirements.
-
Exhibitors and Space Holders who bring electrical equipment into the
showgrounds must comply with current legislation.
-
Where animals are being led, worked and displayed, it is the responsibility
of the owner/handler at the time to ensure the animal does not become
a public safety liability.
-
Dogs, other than those owned by members of the Canine Control Council,
must be kept in a closed float, a vehicle or on a short leash and must
be suitably muzzled as to prevent it being able to injure or bite any
person or other animal.
-
Any competitor who receives any physical or electronic communication
aid during the judging of an event will have all nominations cancelled.
The persons concerned may be asked to leave the Showground.
-
Energised electric fences are prohibited on the Showground at any time
unless in a specified area and suitably signed.
-
Rules for individual Sections shall be as per the attached Schedule(s)
and they shall be read in conjunction with the rules.

The Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc. considers that
any Judge, Steward or Person who is affected by alcohol or drugs while
performing a duty at an Agricultural Show or Show Committee organised
function, is considered an unacceptable form of behaviour which will not
be tolerated under any circumstances.
-
The Chamber considers that all persons assisting at a Show or function
should be free of any intimidation or embarrassment caused by any person
who is affected by alcohol or drugs.
-
The Executive or the Show Society or person in charge of the Event
must ensure that any Judge, Steward or Person is not subject to any behaviour
which is a personal embarrassment to the Members of the Show Society or
renders the Show Society in disrepute.
-
Any reports of alcohol or drug abuse will be treated seriously and
action will be taken immediately to remedy the problem.
-
Disciplinary action may be taken against any person who is in breach
of these protocols.
-
Any Judge, Steward or Person affected by alcohol or drugs by their
actions may be liable under the Workplace, Health and Safety Act.
-
Disciplinary action arising from any incident involving alcohol or
drug abuse may involve a warning, dismissal or referral to authorities.
